Hawaii Big Island Day 1 (Part 1)

Writer's picture: JunJun

Big Island of Hawaii is one of my favorite places to visit.

As soon as you get off the plane it takes you back to the good old days and the entire island has a magical feel to it.

This trip was location scouting for an up coming commissioned work we are working on and to explore the town of Kailua- Kona and surrounding beaches.

Kailu Kona, Hawaii street with green trees and a few vehicles, including a Jeep. Buildings and signs line the road under a partly cloudy sky. Calm atmosphere.

I love this town and the ambience is just amazing! There are lots of little eatery & shops and the ocean is just so clear & beautiful! After walking around we stopped by this incredible sushi shop for little lunch!!

Kailua Kona, Hawaii Sushi restaurant with wooden exterior, signs read "Sushi Cocoro" and "Tuna Ich! Sushi." A person tends plants outside. Warm, casual ambiance.

I was so surprised by the quality of sushi here on the big island, to get the same quality on Oahu you most likely have to spend twice as much!! After much needed food and exploring the town little more next up is the beautiful sunset (magic hour).

To be continued......
